The (In)Equal Temperament Project exists as a collaborative platform through which others choose how to perform.

Composer/Educator

Jenny Guilford (she/her)
BMus, MTeach

Jenny is a composer and educator from Australia. With one of her earliest memories being fascinated by the sound of different sized saucepans, it’s safe to say she has always been passionate about sound in all its vast potential. This passion, combined with a decided love of stories, led to the study of multiple instruments, forays into musical theater and a decided hatred of being told something is impossible. Her music has been performed by amateur and professional groups alike, and she has also scored short films. If you ever need a quick way to her heart, tell her where to find decent coffee in London.

Performer/Researcher

Ellan A. Lincoln Hyde (they/them)
PhD (History), BMus(Hons), DipLang/Chi, MMus, MLit

Ellan is a research musicologist and multi-disciplined performing artist who has lived and performed in Australia, the US, China and the UK. Ellan uses their various instrumental talents (bassoon, double bass, ukelele, dulcian and the uilleann pipes) to break down and otherwise distort barriers between musical genres. Ellan’s production management work has included festivals, operas, theatre and international research conferences; they currently hold a lectureship at Kings’ College London. Don’t ever buy Ellan flowers or chocolate, they’d much prefer a clipping from your fern or herb garden.
